A Master Key System allows you to regulate access to particular areas or departments while having one master key that can fit all locks. These systems often use a hierarchal model with the lowest level of key having the highest amount of restricted access. These systems are often deployed in large facilities or complexes such as hotel/motels, hospitals, and offices, but can also be found in several homes.

An example of a master key system would be at a hotel. The manager would have the master key that allows unlimited access to all rooms and a guest at the hotel would have a key that is only able to access their room and common areas such as the gym.
